Adenosine Triphosphate* You may remember ATP from biology class. Adenosine Triphosphate is the natural molecule in your cells that transfers energy around the cell. ATP can help restore the skin and promote healing
Acetyl Tyrosine** Tyrosine (Try) is an amino acid (a building block of proteins) and a common dietary supplement. Tyrosine is important in the creation of melanin (the tanning molecule). As a precursor to tyrosine, acetyl tyrosine can help the skin’s natural process of creating melanin after sun exposure.
Levulinic acid*** A natural ingredient derived from cellulose, Levulinic acid (LA) is a γ-keto acid. Levulinic acid also has antimicrobial properties and is effective against some bacteria and molds.
Proline (Pro) An amino acid (i.e., the building blocks of proteins), it is involved in the natural production of collagen. Enhancing collagen in the skin helps remove fine lines and wrinkles, giving skin a more youthful appearance.
Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate A stable form of vitamin C and a great skin ingredient. In the skin, it can be converted to ascorbic acid, which is essentially Vitamin C. An antioxidant that protects the skin cell, it also promotes collagen synthesis, helps brighten the skin and limit dark spots.
Tocopheryl Acetate Vitamin E acetate is a stable form of Vit E., providing the same great antioxidant benefits of Vit E. This potent antioxidant helps the skin recover after sun exposure or other environmental pollutants.
Cetearyl Alcohol A fatty acid that is a skin lipid mimic. Cetearyl alcohol can replace essential lipid components of the skin barrier. This helps keep water in the skin, leaving it healthy and protected.
Glycerin Great skin component mimic. It helps restore moisture to the stratum corneum (top layer of the skin) and glycerin acts as a humectant, holding onto water.
Sorbitol A naturally occurring sugar alcohol that is also commonly found in foods. Water loving, it holds onto water and helps maintain skin hydration. Also, a food source for natural skin bacteria, sorbitol is a prebiotic that helps maintain the skin microbiome.
Tocopherol**** Also known as Vitamin E, tocopherol is a great antioxidant. Oxidation is a damaging process that degrades the skin. Tocopherol stops this process, helping preserve skin health. This helps the skin recover after exposure to the sun or environmental pollutants.
Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil A natural oil from wheat germ, it is rich in Vitamin E which is a great antioxidant and aids skin recovery. However, it may not be for everyone: people with celiac disease may want to avoid wheat products, even applied to the skin.
