The Dirt on Dirty Essentials
Dirty Essentials customers are smart and want products that work. They also understand the natural value of earth-based ingredients, which is why we are so proud to bring you a daily wellness routine rooted in one of Earth’s most precious offerings: water.
But this is not just any water...
The botanical-rich peat water in Dirty Essentials® products contains a rich array of more than 1,000 plants and rare botanicals, naturally cultivated over tens of thousands of years from Austria’s Neydharting Moor. The restorative properties of the moor were first discovered as early as 800 BCE and have since received accolades from nine International Scientific Congresses and the Austrian Ministry of Health for the positive impact on human skin.Learn More
Before we share everything we’ve learned about Austria’s best kept beauty secret, a little history on how Dirty Essentials began...
How Did We Get Here?
In late 2019, an opportunity arose to bring Austria’s best kept beauty secret to mainstream U.S. consumers, and we couldn’t turn it down. Then, after using the products ourselves and engaging groups of beauty advisors and influencers to share their experiences, which were met with RAVE reviews, we knew we had something special.
Since then, we’ve been sharing Dirty Essentials with people of all ages, across the broad spectrum of skin tones and varying complexions. As customer feedback rolls in, we have BIG plans for product expansion and brand experience.
Who Are We?
Life has an unusual way of bringing people together, and that’s exactly how our team was formed.
The Dirty Essentials team, in partnership with Austrian royalty (we’re not at all joking), has exclusive rights to the botanical-rich peat and peat water of Austria’s Neydharting Moor. This grants us the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share Austria’s best kept beauty secret with people like you..
We are friends, entrepreneurs, parents and consumers who seek out brands that offer high quality products and practice sound business practices. Our team works collaboratively to bring this same consumer-minded rigor to our products and marketing.

The Dirty Side
The Dirty detailed backstory.
As mentioned, the water of the Neydharting Moor is full of minerals, trace minerals, herbs, enzymes, antioxidants and fatty acids in ratios that nature intended and its unique health giving and anti-aging properties are now available to all of us.
But did you know that trace minerals are also important in alkalizing the body and compensating for the accumulation of metabolic acids? Neither did we at first. So we sought out beauty product experts to ensure we provided the most accurate information.
And what we uncovered even surprised us in the best of ways. Metabolic acids are one of the body's main buffer systems, and supplementing the body with trace minerals is a rapid way to alkalize the body. The Neydharting Moor is at least 30,000 years old and lies below ground water level and is encased by glacial rock. With time, the rocks and over 1,000 herbs, plants and flowers have dissolved into the waters -- creating our truly unique peat water, which is a core ingredient in our products.
What’s more is that at least 300 of these botanicals have been identified as having restorative properties. 200 of these botanicals have become extinct for nearly 500 years, making the peat water in Dirty Essentials literally impossible for scientists to replicate. The health-giving benefits of the water have been known to man since 800 BC. Here are some interesting facts we dug up about the region and the truly unique peat and peat water:
- There are stories of the famous physician Paracelsus sending his patients to the Neydharting Moor in the 16th century, believing he had discovered the ultimate elixir of life.
- More recently there has been a healing spa there visited
- The spa was purchased in 1945 for scientific research. At that time, the spa had eight bedrooms.
- The healing spa today has over 400 rooms and is booked out two years ahead.
- Nine International Scientific Congresses have concluded that the Neydharting Moor is the only therapeutic medicinal moor.
- Treatments at the healing spa are available on the government health care systems of Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland.
- Research on the waters of the moor have shown anti-inflammatory effects, adrenal repair properties and a balancing effect on hormones.
