Why It Works
Chamomile has been used for centuries to help “bring on sleep,” so the allantoin in Z Cream (found naturally in chamomile) helps encourage the skin renewal by removing dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin. Farnesol, farnesyl acetate, and panthenyl triacetate (a vitamin B complex) balances and normalizes natural sebum production in your skin, which helps to reduce wrinkles and leave your skin feeling new and refreshed.

Panthenyl Triacetate - A vitamin B complex and a derivative of pantothenic acid, it provides anti-irritation benefits, plus soothes the skin and promotes wound healing.
Allantoin - Naturally occurring in the European herb comfrey and in chamomile, it helps with the natural process of skin renewal. It helps remove dead skin cells from the top layer of skin, known as desquamation of the stratum corneum. It can also moderate inflammation and promote healing of the skin, leading to anti-aging effects.
Glycerin - Great skin component mimic. It helps restore moisture to the stratum corneum (i.e., the top layer of the skin) and glycerin acts as a humectant, holding onto water.
Cetearyl Alcohol - A fatty acid that is a skin lipid mimic. Cetearyl alcohol can replace essential lipid components of the skin barrier. This helps keep water in the skin, leaving it healthy and protected.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil - Sweet almond oil is extracted from almonds and contains a great blend of skin ingredients, including some skin mimic lipids (fatty acids including oleic, linoleic and myristic) that help the skin barrier, along with antioxidant vitamin E and vitamin B derivatives.
Please note that there were some concerns that almond oil can cause an allergic response in people with sensitivity to nuts.
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride - Naturally occurring, it remains on the surface of the skin providing a barrier to water leaving the skin. It helps restore moisture to the stratum corneum (i.e., the top layer of the skin).
